Driving Strategic Innovation with Creative Tools & Techniques: The Effective Business Analyst

Do you know that 99.5% of new data is never analysed or used? The amount of new data being created on the internet is doubling every two years according to MIT Technology Review. But really, why waste time on analysis and number crunching if you can't extract real insights from your data? The key to driving strategic innovation in your business is a sound business intelligence (BI) framework, a thorough deep understanding of your business drivers and effective data visualisation and presentation skills.
The world is moving at a dizzyingly fast pace. One wonders how we survived in the good old days, without “phones”, “the internet” or “Big data”. In this fast paced world we easily forget to pause for a bit to engage our creative mind. No matter how wonderful our business analysis tools get, they cannot do the thinking for us.
Nevertheless, we still need creative tools that will help us seamlessly weed through mountains of data to find that gem, that insight, that pattern or trend that will enhance profitability.
The Business Analyst is the go to guy for these BI solutions. So it is critical he/she works with the best tools available. Tools that won’t break the Bank! What would you say if you are told one of these wonderful tools will cost you nothing, zero (0) ₦. The tool will enable you analyse billions of transactions from various structured and unstructured data sources and allow you consume your analysis either on the Cloud, Server or Desktop. The nicest thing about this tool is it uses a language that will come naturally to any Business Analyst.
At this event David will be showcasing a selection of tools and techniques that he considers invaluable for the modern business analyst. He will also demo a wonderful business intelligence tool that leverages off your existing knowledge. He will structure his discussions around the “Business Intelligence” perspective of the BABOK Guide.
